Gray Wolf is a special place, and John strives to protect the ecology, wildlife, and atmosphere of the area.
"When people locate to a forested area, it should be because they love ALL that it offers, and respect the wildlife
that have lived there before them, depending on it for habitat. We have coyotes, cougars, deer, bears, raccoons, rabbits, squirrels, hawks,
owls, eagles, and more. People should take all measures to protect pets etc., rather than wait for an avoidable disaster and blame the wildlife."
It is beautifully forested land, offering a feeling of "wildness", privacy and peacefulness, fresh air,
yet close to town. The entrance is located at the 9000 mile marker on Lower River Road. Upper River Road (which evolves into Lower River Road)
is a very scenic, relaxing drive to town and welcomes you back home.
There are CCR's protecting all inhabitants from impositions such as dirtbikes, discharging of firearms, etc.
All underground utilities are included. The water wells are in and range from 5 to 30 GPM.
Even in building the two new roads into the property, John made every effort to work with the County to save trees and preserve aesthetics.
"I'm a tree person... I will curve a driveway in a heartbeat to save one tree."
The two roads into Gray Wolf have names in keeping with the area's atmosphere:
Gray Wolf Drive, and Wolf Song Drive.
Most of the homes John has built here have a "Pacific Northwest" feel, incorporating logs, cedar shingles,
cedar siding, rock, etc., and using colors that harmonize with the forest.
"We are all so lucky to live here in this area, with so much natural beauty around us.
I want to perpetuate and preserve this feeling in Gray Wolf."
